Chickpeas

The pulses with the funny name were already cultivated 8,000 years ago in Asia Minor and spread from there to India and the Mediterranean region. The chickpea finally came to us in the early Middle Ages with the trade ships and remains very popular to this day.

No wonder, as it contains a great deal of protein, minerals and trace elements. It is rich in B vitamins and roughage: So it's a perfect choice for all vegans and those who are health and figure-conscious. All of this, of course, with a very low glycemic index (GI)* and moderate amount of calories. Thanks to the high fibre content, chickpeas also have a positive effect on digestion.
